The Government of Ebonyi State under His Excellency Engr Chief David Nweze Umahi FNSE FNATE, has declared zero tolerance for Ponzi Scheme in Ebonyi State
As a follow-up to that directive, the Ministry of Human Capital Development and Monitoring has developed a mode of operation by geniune NGOs operating in Ebonyi State.
The Commissioner for Information and State Orientation and Ag Commissioner for Human Capital Development and Monitoring, Hon. Barr. Orji Uchenna Orji unveiled the requirements for such operations. According to Orji, all geniune NGOs operating Empowerment Activities are to first seek and obtain clearance in the hand and seal of the Hon. Commissioner for Human Capital Development and Monitoring. The Ministry will investigate the claims of the NGO that wants to carry out Empowerment Programme to be sure it is a geniune Empowerment NGO. The NGO must have an office in Ebonyi State and must be a registered NGO under the CAMA
This rule is to be enforced and applied to all NGOs operating Empowerment Schemes in Ebonyi State, whether Networking groups or Food on the Table or groups howsoever described or designated.
The Human Capital Development Taskforce has been commissioned to track and cause arrest, any person or group(s) who operate without being duly certified by the Ministry.
Orji flagged off the issuance of the clearance certificate of groups that were cleared to operate as Empowerment NGOs in the State.
