Ebonyi Security Commissioner Calls For Synergy In Sustenance Of Existing Peace In The State


Hon. Stanley Okoro Emegha, the Honorable Commmissioner, Ministry of internal security, border peace and conflict resolution  Ebonyi state, have called for Greater collaboration with all the security agencies, Leaders, youth groups, stakeholders, religious and traditional institutions in the state, in the sustenance of the existing peace in all parts of the state to guarantee the continued rapid Development going on in the state, under Governor David Umahi's administration.

Chief Emegha noted that governor David Umahi, who is a leader with peaceful disposition, is not reneging on his constitutional responsibility of protecting
life and property of every Ebonyians as concrete modalities and adequate security network are already in place to checkmate security and peace of the state, which have made the state, most peaceful and safest in Nigeria.

The Commmissioner, who made the call while  presiding over a reconciliatory peace meeting between JEP-JAF Mining Company and the Host Community of Ndiezeoke Village in Igbeagu Community, Izzi Local Government Area of the state, held at the Ministry's Conference Hall, Government House, Abakaliki, warned that government will not condone any act of violence or restiveness in the community or any part of the state, as any one cought, aiding or abetting the act will be severely dealth with.

He however, Charged the youth leader, the town union president and all stakeholders from the area to take charge of peace move in the area as any further unrest in area, they will be held responsible.

The Commissioner ordered that nobody should step into the disputed mining site till all contending issues are peacefully resolved.

Present at the meeting were Eze John Nwenyi, Managing Director JEP- JAF Nigeria LTD., Hon. Richard Idika, the Traditional ruler of Igbeagu Community, the youth among others promised to abide by the directives of the Commissioner and thanked him for the peaceful manner he has been handling the situation and prayed for the wisdom to continue to preserve the peace of the state.
