Breaking: Ike Ekweremadu Emerges Leader Of S' East Caucus

Former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, is now the leader of the South East caucus in the Senate, it was learnt Wednesday.
Minority Leader of the Senate, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, disclosed this during Plenary on Wednesday.
Abaribe who came via a point of Order, said Ekweremadu was unanimously elected in an election that was very peaceful.

The supreme Court of Nigeria this Tuesday voids the electoral victory of Governor Emeka Ihedioha of Imo State and subsequently declared Hope Uzodinma of APC the rightful Winner. Delivering the judgement, Justice Kudirat Kekere Ekun declared that the votes due to Senator Uzodinma were unlawfully excluded from the 318 polling units and should be added to his votes. According to Channels News, the apex court considered the submissions of a Principal witness who was on a subpoena to present results and held that the lower court was wrong in its ruling. Justice Kekere-Ekun, while reading the lead judgment, declared Senator Uzodinma as the validly elected Governor and the certificate of return issued to Ihedioha be withdrawn immediately. Zimbabwean Independent icon and ex-president who ruled for nearly 4 decades has died at the age of 95, President Emmerson Mnangagwa has announced. Robert Mugabe who ruled Zimbabwe from its independence in 1980 until he was ousted in 2017 died in Singapore Mnangagwa said. Ebonyi State Governmet Bans Street, Road Trading Within The City Center

By Our Reporter Ebonyi State Government has announced bans on street/road trading along major roads from old Government House to Onuebonyi Junction, Afikpo road through Akanu Ibiam to Onuebonyi Junction and all the streets within the neigbourhood of old Abakpa Market, effective from Wednesday, 4th March, 2020. In a statement made available to newsmen and personally endorsed by the secretary to Ebonyi State Governmet/Coordinating Commmissioner and who also the Chairman, Exco Committee on international market, Dr Kenneth Ugbala, reveals that Government directs that anyone found violating this directive should be arrested, investigated and prosecuted in line with the law.
