Ebonyi School Agricultural Program Have Come To Stay - Uchenna Aga Vows
The special assistant to the governor on School Agricultural Program, Hon. Uchenna Aga has intensified effort in ensuring that the purpose of setting up school Agriculture Program in the various public schools in the state is actualized for the overall Development of the state.
Hon. Aga, in his routine inspection of the pilot school vowed to ensure that the financial grant given to the schools are put to productive use and recovered as at when due.
The SA, in his recent visit to Ebunwana model Secondary School, Edda, frowned at what he found on ground.
Aga, who was received by the Agricultural team led by the school principal, Ukpai Grace Egbu. Other members of the group includes Felicia Okoro, Ada Orji, Priscilia Ugwu and elder Celestine Okoro. He however, asked the principal to refund the sum of three hundred and sixty thousand naira (#360,000) to the school Agriculture Program account for failure to give proper account of the money on their cassava and Poultry farm projects.
Similarly, at Government secondary School, owutu Edda in Afikpo South council area of the state, Elder Ibiam Nweze Imo, the school principal and the Agricultural Committee members welcome him to the school. The members of the team, Evelyn Uche, Arua Ibiam and John Ukpai took him round their Cassava, yam and Poultry farms.
The SA after thorough inspection of the farms and their records however, rejected the report of the committee and directed the principal to pay all the money realized from the sales of their Agricultural produce to the school Agric Account.
He equally directed that the committee should come to his office on Wednesday and henceforth, should seek approval from him before any withdrawal is made from the account.
