Ebonyi Information Commmissioner Introduce Quarterly Reward System For Hardworking Staff

The Ebonyi State Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Mr Orji Uchenna Orji, has stated that henceforth, the reward system of the ministry and its parastatals to motivate staff would be quarterly.

Mr Orji stated this during the January, 2020 Performance Evaluation Exercise for the staff of the ministry in Abakaliki.

According to Mr Orji, while the best performing officers would be rewarded to spur others to perform better, those performing below average would be reprimanded, to serve as deterrent.

He disclosed that the ministry will apply impartial criteria, and work in synergy with the various Chief Executives both in the ministry and the local government areas to ensure fair results.

He however praised some staff of the ministry who put in their best in the period under review but charged the officers to ensure that they delivered optimally in the upcoming months.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr Ken Uhuo, appreciated the Commissioner for introducing the Performance Evaluation Exercise, which according to him had instilled in the staff of the ministry, the undying spirit of hard work and dedication to duties. He advised the staff to focus on their schedules, to ensure they become good representatives of the ministry at their respective places of assignment.

In their separate vote of thanks, Mr Moses Eze and Sylvia Igiri thanked the Commissioner for initiating the monthly Performance Evaluation Exercise which has motivated the staff of the ministry and guarded those who perform below average to accelerate alongside others.
