Ebonyi PDP Primary Election Killing: Umahi Orders Sack, Arrest Of Coordinator, Technical Assistants Over Alleged Involvement

Ebonyi State Governor, Chief David Umahi has ordered the immediate removal from Office and arrest of Hon.Uche Ibiam, Coordinator, Ubeyi Development Center and Mr Ibiam Ogbonnaya Junior (aka Terror) who is a Technical Assistants to the governor on security, for alleged involvement in the murder of one Enyinna Ibiam at the People Democratic Party, PDP, state primaries in Uwanna, Afikpo North LGA of the state.


Umahi, over the weekend, ordered the arrest and sack of Ibiam, through  a statement signed by the secretary to Ebonyi State Government, SSG, Dr Kenneth Ugbala, in the State.


It was gathered that state primaries of the PDP to elect those who will represent the party in the forthcoming councillorship and local government election was bloody, as two persons were killed, with many injured.


Uche, the sacked coordinator was said to have pulled out a gun to shoot at his own brother, Ibiam Ogbonnaya Junior, Technical Assistant (TA) to the governor on security, but the bullet hit the victim.


The victim, Enyinna Ibiam was before  death a staff of the Federal Polytechnic Uwanna but died while trying to separate a fight between the sacked coordinator and his brother when the bullet hit him and pierced through his nose.


Part of the Statement reads:

“The Governor of Ebonyi state, Chief David Umahi, has directed the immediate removal from office and arrest of the Coordinator Ubeyi Development Centre, Uche Ibiam and Ibiam Ibiam Ogbonnaya Junior, (a.k.a. Terror), technical assistant to governor on security for allegedly being involved in a murder case.

“The Governor further directed that security agents should carry out a full investigation and prosecute all those found guilty in accordance to the law.


“His Excellency further assures Ebonyians of his continuous commitment in protecting life and property in the State.
