Umahi Honours Fallen Heroes: Preaches Peace, Unity

In commemoration  of 2020 Armed forces remembrance day celebration, Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state today laid a wreath on the cenotaph of an unknown soilder in the honour of the fallen heroes who paid the supreme prize for the defence of Nigeria territorial integrity.

The event was held at Unity Square, in the heart of Abakaliki, the state capital.

The armed forces remembrance day which is an annual National event, is been commemorated 15th of January, every year, to celebrate and appreciate the sacrifice of the armed forces in safeguarding the territorial integrity of Nigeria.

High point of the event were laying  of wreath, parade by the armed forces, release of pegeon signifying peace in the state and twenty one gun salute.


The 24 Engineer Support Regiment Commander, Lt Col I.O Erhabor, Major General John Ogodo, the Chapter Chairman, Nigerian Legion, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, members of the State Assembly, and top government functionaries were in attendance.
