Sons Of Ebonyi Former SSG Discloses Real Cause Of His Death; Accusses Wife Of Falsifying His Will

From Israel Mbam

Barely two years after the death of Ebonyi has state former secretary to the state government, Chief Fidelis Mbam, there seemed to be an unending fight over his property even as the sons have accused the stepmother and wife or the former SSG, Mrs. Joy Mbam. The sons who  dragged the said Mrs. Joy Mbam to court also alleged that she connived with her boyfriend to falsify the will of their late father.

Addressing newsmen on the issue, one of the sons, Prince Maurice Mbam said that since efforts to handle the issue within the family circle proved abortive, it was necessary for them to make public the cause of their father’s death and how their step mother, Mrs. Joy Mbam transferred the late SSG money and properties to herself.

“it is important at this point to let Ebonyians know the cause of the former SSG death. Our father did not die a natural death. The second wife who was having extra-marital affairs with her boy friend, first accused, I and my brother of wanting to kill our father, we swore our innocence by laying hands on our father to say if we are responsible for his sickness, let the sickness come to us and possibly kill us. Yet, her diabolic activities held our father on sick bed, several test was conducted on him, we even took him to United States for medication but nothing was find to be the cause of his sickness.

“We came back and took him to a herbal medicine man who promised to heal him. After some weeks, Mrs. Joy without our notice brought our father back to the house and refused giving him the prescribed medication, she rather brought a native Doctor  to the house who made our father to stop talking.  The next she did was to force our father’s fingers to thumb print on his cheque with which she used to empty his account. When elders of the family called her for questioning, she chased them out and insisted that none of the family members should come see our father. It took the intervention of friends of the late SSG who insisted that he must be taken to the hospital for further medical attention for him to live more months.

“Unknowing to us, our father discovered that the wife was having affairs with another man and that alone traditionally leads to either the death of the husband or children and because our father did not want any of his children to die, he refused to talk about it. Later when the man finally died, her interest was to convert all our father’s property to herself. She manipulated the wills excluding all her personal properties but included that of our late mother which she willed to herself.

"Immediately after the funeral, it was not up to a month, she packed her things including our dad’s cars and other major properties in our father’s house to her new place. What we did was to invite the Elders of our family and in our community. They talked to her and instead of turning a new leaf, she  went to the police to report that we wanted to kill her and that was why she was leaving the compound. Until now, she still uses the police to harass us even when the matter is still in court. We went to court to challenge the will that was read to us. The Governor, the Speaker of the State House of assembly and other Stakeholders have all stepped into this case, but she is bent on achieving her mission which is taking all our father’s property to herself and possibly make us worthless.

"For us, we have told her that if she is saying she is innocent and that the will was not falsified, let her bring it and place it on the late husband’s grave and swear that she has no hand in his death and that the  will was written by our father without her manipulation. Only then will we allow her and the dead to decide her fate. If she is innocent after one year then she wins". “He stated

When contacted, Mrs. Joy Mbam denied all the allegations laid on her. She explained that Mr. Maurice and his brothers just have hatred for her and want to dent her image after putting her in pains and discomfort during the period of her husband’s sickness and after the burial.

She noted that CAN, the State Governor and the police who have investigated the matter have warned them to allow her be while the matter is to be decided in Court.
