War Against COVID-19: Ebonyi Lawmakers Donates April Salary

Ebonyi state House of Assembly on Wednesday, announced the forfeiture of the member's April Salary to help the state wage war against the spread of the deadly Coronavirus in the state.
This was announced at the plenary following a motion of urgent public importance, moved by the Deputy speaker, Obasi Odefa and seconded by the member representing Ezza South Constituency, Chris Usulor. The motion was unanimously supported by the members.
According to the speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru, while presiding over the plenary said,
"As our own meagre way of supporting the fight against COVID-19 in Ebonyi State, my distinguished colleagues and I have unanimously agreed to donate our April 2020 salaries to the CORONA Virus fundraising Committee in the State.
This approval came following a motion moved under matter of urgent public importance by our ebullient Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Odefa Obasi Odefa.
Equally, the House today passed into Law, a Bill for a Law to Combat and Stop the spread of Corona Virus and other infectious Diseases in Ebonyi State and other matters connected thereto (HAB 05, 2020).
We'll together continue striving to protect our State against this pandemic".
