The Commissioner for internal security, border peace and conflict resolution in Ebonyi state, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, has commended the security personnel posted to the border area to enforce the closure of the state borders to mitigate against the spread of the dreaded Coronavirus into the state.

The Commissioner gave the commendation during his assessment tour of the border areas across the state. He charged the combined team of security personnel to take the Policing of the border seriously, as the state Governor Engr David Umahi has invested huge resources in his efforts to prevent the spread of the dreaded Coronavirus into the state.
"I must commend you highly, for your hard work and dedication to this task of securing our border areas, you're doing well and I enjoined you to keep it up. Our proactive and God-given leader, Engr Chief David Nweze Umahi put a lot of measures on ground to ensure that the Virus did not find its way into the state, hence the need to compliment his efforts by living up to the expectation", he said.

The Commissioner who was acompaigned by the principal secretary to the governor, Chief Clement Nweke inspected the level of compliance to the border closure at Uduma junction in Uburu, Ohaozara LGA, which is a border with Enugu.

The team proceeded to Ndiokoroukwu junction in Ivo LGA, the boundary line with Ebonyi and Abia state. It is an access point to Okigwe/ Uturu in Abia state. The Commmissioner and his team met the Coordinator, Mr Daniel Okorie and the team of combined security personnel. The area was relatively peaceful, though there was an issue of a certain manager of quarry company based in Ishiagu who wanted to force his way into the state but was prevented by security personnel and the Commissioner ordered that he should return to where he was coming from.

At Nguzu Edda the boundary in Afikpo South LGA of the state and Ohafia of Abia state, the area was Calm and peaceful. The joint security operatives and the health workers were religiously carrying out their duty of Policing the border.
