Senate Begins Public Hearing On Senator Ama Nnachi's Bill

The Senate Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, shall on Tuesday next week (10th March 2020) by 10am, hold a one day Public Hearing on a bill for the establishment of Oil Industrial Park sponsored by Distinguished Senator Michael Ama Nnachi, Ph.D Senator representing Ebonyi South Senatorial district.

The Public Hearing which is billed to take place at the Senate conference hall 231, new building, seeks to get  inputs and contributions of relevant stakeholders on the bill, for its smooth passage into Law.

The Bill is geared towards revolutionizing the agricultural sector and thereby diversifying our national economy.
It focuses on attracting private sector Agric business to set up processing plants in zones of higher oil Palm production. This will be enabled by government to putting in place appropriate physical, investment and infrastructural policies for oil Palm Industrial Park that will lead farmers incluster to food manufacturing plants.

The establishment of Oil Palm Industrial Park which the bill is seeking is aimed at developing commercial Agriculture, adding value to Oil Palm production, creating jobs and reviving the country's rural economy.
