Ebonyi State Commmissioner for internal security, border peace and conflict resolution, Hon. Stanley Okoro Emegha have charged the people of Ikwuato Idembia, in Ezza South Local government to embrace peace and refrain from unnecessary squabble for village Leadership in the community.

Emegha gave the charge during a peace meeting with the stakeholders of area, to douse the tension created by the quest for an election to elect new executive of the Development union and a pettition written to that effect. He reiterated that Governor David Umahi has has zero tolerance for crises and will do anything to ensure that peace reign in all parts of the state. He warned that government will be out for anyone who fails to embrace peace in any part of the state.

After cross- examining the issue, it was unanimously established that the tenure of elected executive have elapsed and the current caretaker executive have overstayed the required time, having lasted for about two years, hence, the need to elect a new Leadership of the Development union.

The Commissioner however, dissolved the caretaker leadership of the Development union and promise to call for a meeting that will accommodate larger stakeholders of the area so as to choose a new caretaker Committee which according to the Commmissioner, will be saddled with the responsibility of reconciling all aggrieved Parties and returning permanent peace in the community.

Responding, the former Commissioner for information and state orientation, Dr Chike Onwe, thanked the commissioner for the way and manner he handled the matter and promised that before the next meeting, peace would have returned to the area.
