Stone Crushers Association Election: Government Harps On Peaceful Conduct
Ahead of Friday's election in the executive position of Umuogharu Stone Crushers Association, the Commissioner for internal security, border peace and conflict resolution, Hon. Stanley Okoro Emegha has urged members of the Association to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner and shurn any action that may cause breach of peace before, during and after the election.
The Commissioner gave the charge during a pre- election meeting with the group in Government House, Abakaliki.

He said that the state government does not want any crises in any part of the state, hence, the need for proper conducts for both aspirants and the members to ensure a peaceful election.
Emegha revealed that adequate security measures has been put in place to forestall any attempt breach of peace and warned any person who has no business in area to stay clear to avoid unnecessary embarrassement.
The state security helmsman noted that those to facilitate the election has been properly constituted, ranging from the election supervisor, the electoral Committee and the screening Committee are men of impecable character. He assured the contestants that a level playing field will be given to all as they will be no room for rigging or any other form of sharp practices.
The Commissioner said that the reason for the election was as a result of the expiration of the tenure of the current executive.
On his part, the electoral supervisor, who is also the special assistant to the governor on youths mobilization and empowerment, Hon. Mark Onu stressed that as far as he is involved, he will not superintend over a rigged election. He rather advised those who want to perpetrate violence or those who have hired mecenaries to run the election for them to be ready to face the squabble. He said that the accreditation of the one hundred and twenty six members on their register will commence by 8:am and will be strictly for the members.
Speaking also, a member of the electoral Committee and the special assistant to the governor on Security and utility, Ebonyi central, Hon. Onyekachi Nwoba advised them to remain peaceful as no body will be given undue advantage as the committee will apply option A4 which he said, will be difficult to rig.
The pioneer Chairman of the Association, Mr Joseph Onele thanked the Commissioner and his team for the meeting and pleaded on the electoral Committee to be fair to all and allow the people's will to prevail.
The outgoing Chairman, Mr Ugo Nweze thanked the Commissioner and urge the members to make themselves available on the the election day and vote the candidate of their choice and in a peaceful manner.
