Ebonyi Govt. Moves To Improve School Agriculture Program
In an effort to resorcitate and revamp the School Agriculture program in Ebonyi State, the special Assistant to the Governor on School Agriculture program, Hon. Aga Uchenna Kennedy, last Friday, September 6th, had a meeting with the principal of the 31 pilot schools
in the state.
The meeting gave them the opportunity to brainstorm on the success of the program so far, challenges, prospects of the program and other areas that needef to be explored such as poultry farm, fishry, snail farm among others.
They also reviewed the impact of the 2018 school Agriculture grants from the state governor, Chief Engr David Nweze Umahi and sorts ways of improving and sustaining it.
They also discussed how to form Young Farmers Association in all participating schools so as to Inculcate the culture of farming in the lives of the young ones and in turn, improve the economy of state through Agriculture.
The SA thanked the principal for honoring his call and urged them to redouble their efforts in getting the School Agriculture program back on track, make more efficient and to serve the purposes it was intended.
