Ebonyi Community Sent Away Self-Acclaimed Man Of God
Eguazu Inyimagu community in Abakaliki LGA of Ebonyi State, has
sent away a self-acclaimed man of God, who claimed to have the ministry of
removing buried charms and poisons from peoples home. The middle aged man who
gave his name as Pastor Joseph Eze of Divine Miracle Church of God, located at
Aguiyi Ironsi Street, Abakaliki. He claimed to have been in the ministry for fifteen (15) years.
It was gathered that, Pastor Joseph had lived in the
community for the period of two months and one week, and had carried out his charms
and poison removal ministry in the homes of some the members of the community,
his charges ranges from three thousand five hundred naira to ten thousand naira
or even more (#3,500-10,000) depending on the nature of the charm or poison.
However, on that fateful day, Pastor Joseph went in search
of a house to rent, having been ejected from his former place of abode due to what
his former landlord described as unfriendly lifestyle of a supposed man of God,
he met one Mr David, a tricycle rider who resides in Mr Ogbonna Nwanga’s
compound at about 9:30pm, whom he enquired about the way about of the owner of
the building next to theirs, which he ( Pastor Joseph) intends to rent, David
asked him, if he did not see anyone in the compound which he responded in the negative, David then
advised him to check again tomorrow morning if he cannot tarry a while, as the
owner use to return late from work. Pastor Joseph further asked if there is any
vacant room in the compound which Mr David said no, he thereafter asked if the
pregnant woman he saw was David’s wife but he said no, that he’s not even married.
Pastor Joseph immediately called David into a secluded place and told him that
the spirit of God just ministered to him that their landlord buried a charm in
the compound and he is using it to sap away the destinies of the tenant, the
worst is that one of the tenant will die before December 2018. David, being
shocked by such revelation, demanded that Pastor Joseph must go with him to their
landlord and repeat what he has just told him. On their arrival to Mr Nwanga’s
compound, being David’s landlord, because he is not living in the same compound
with the tenants, Pastor Joseph then told the landlord that one of his tenant
buried a charm in his compound and that the charm is even affecting the
progress of the landlord, David was shocked by the twist of event, and
confronted Pastor Joseph that what he told him was different from what he has
just told the landlord but the pastor said no, that what he told the landlord
was what the spirit of God revealed to him and that the charm was even prepared
in Ikwo. The landlord then took them back to the compound and called all the
tenants, and asked the pastor to address them. Pastor Joseph then told the
tenants that God revealed to him that someone from the community buried charm
in the compound. On hearing that, the landlord was terrified and insists that
he removed the said charm. He then agreed and asked them to get some items for
the work to be done. They searched for items but could not get them due to the
fact that it was already deep in the night. The tenants insists that he must
not go anywhere until the following morning so that they can get the items he
demanded for, and the charm be removed. The landlord invited police and alerted
the Village councilor who told them to keep him till dawn.
At about 6:30 am, the villege councilor Mr Chukwuma Nwophoke
and one of his men arrived the scene. He was briefed on what happened. After
hearing from both sides, he was furious on the dubious act of the said Pastor,
having heard how he had duped so many members of the community on the account
of removing charm from their compound. He asked the landlord not buy the items
he had requested for, as he will not remove anything. He said that he had received
handful of complains about the young man and his nefarious act, he immediately
ordered the pastor out of the community. He warned him never to set his feet on
the community anymore, as he advises his people to be weary of those they
accept and called men of God. Pastor immediately packed all his belongings and left the
community unharmed.
