Abia State Police Rescues Two Kidnapped Victims

By our Reporter Abia State Commissioner of police CP Janet Agbede has rescued two kidnap victims in Amauzo Okpolu Umuobo Community in Osisioma Local Government Area of Abia State.  The hoodlums had this week on Wednesday 7th May, 2020 by 10:00 pm abducted two persons along Okpolu Umuobo road near Jesus Christ of Later Day Saint Church in Osisioma Local Government Area of Aba commercial city.  Those kidnapped by the hoodlums are Nwankwo Chinedu (male) 42 years and Ndukwe Agu (male) aged 48 years were both abducted at Okpolu Umuobo road, on Wednesday.  When after the incident happened, the commissioner of Police , CP Janet Agbede got intelligence that the kidnappers moved the victims to their hideout at Amauzo Okpolu Umuobo community , Osisioma Council area.  The CP detailed SARS commander in Abia , SP Johnbull Obioguru and the C.T.U. men to fish out the criminals and resue their innocent victims.  In the same night of Wednesday, the SARS Commander with his team s...

By our Reporter The Commmissioner for internal security, border peace and conflict resolution, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha has assured the people of Okomigbo autonomous community in Mpu, Aninri local government area of Enugu state of speedy and amicable resolution of the boundary dispute with her sister community of Ngwogwo in Ishiagu, Ivo local government area of Ebonyi State, noting that Ebonyi State Governor, Engr David Umahi and his Enugu state counterpart, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi are people loving leaders and will ensure that the boundary dispute is resolved to continue with the brotherly relationship that had long existed between the two communities and the state at large. Oshiomole Bows To Pressure Backs Down On Ize-Iyamu Guber Ambition

There are indications that the national Chairman of the All Progressives (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has called for a fresh mock primary election for the four EPM Governorship aspirants, barring any last minutes changes. He was said to have bowed to pressure by the four aspirants, Dr. Pius Odubu, Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi, Mr Solomon Edebiri and Mr Charles Arhiavbere threatened to rock the boat should Ize-Iyamu emerge the consensus Candidate of the party. Mr Odubu, former deputy Governor of Edo State, has been tipped as the most viable option in EPM camp that can contest with Governor Godwin Obaseki whose influence transcends across the various divides. Covid-19: Umahi Announced Two Additional Case In The State

By our Reporter Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has announced the 4th and 5th case of Covid-19 patients in the state, bringing the number of active in the state to five. According to the governor, the two patients that tested positive are 24 years old and 22 years old respectively . The 24 year old patient is a female and a hair dresser from Ogwu Uburu in Umuobuna ward in Ohaozara LGA, She resides at no 30 Queen Close Okpara Avenue and returned with her family members on 27th to Ogwu Uburu. She was picked from Uburu to Stadium. She happens to be one of the contacts of the 3rd positive case Ebonyi recorded on the 1st of May. While the 5th Patient is a 22 year old man, who lives at No 197 Eshibiri , Ojo LGA Lagos. Afikpo South Council Chairman Faults NHRC, Ebonyi Commissioner's Report On killing

The Chairman of Afikpo South local government area, Eni Uduma Chima on Sunday disagreed with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and the Commissioner of Information in Ebonyi state, Uchenna Orji on the killing of one person in the council on 27th of March. The Commission, in a statement issued by it's Executive Secretary, Anthony Ojukwu and reported by various national dailies, had blamed Ebonyi State Anti-Covid 19 Taskforce in Afikpo South Local Government  Area for the killing. But in a swift reaction Mr Orji had debunked the NHRC statement and claimed that the killing followed a clash between youths of two neighbouring communities of Ekoli-Edda and Nguzu-Edda in the area. Motorcycle Ban; Government Warns Tricycle Operators Against Arbitrary Fare Hike

Ebonyi State Government has warned Tricycle Operators in the state not to take advantage of the current ban on motorcycle and arbitrary hike their fares. This position of government was made known to the public by the Commmissioner for internal security, border peace and conflict resolution, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, in a public statement in Abakaliki, the state capital. The statement reads; “The Ebonyi State Government has observed that some Tricycle Operators in the State have arbitrarily hiked their fares in the midst of the current hardship occasioned by the outbreak of the COVID-19 Pandemic in the country and efforts by the state Government to ameliorate the situation. 2.
