Covid-19; Umahi Sends Palliative To Ebonyians In Lagos, Abuja

By Our Reporter In his avowed commitment to the welfare and well-being of Ebonyians both in the state and those outside the state. The state Governor, Engr David Umahi on Wednesday announced a palliative packages for Ebonyians resident in Lagos and Abuja. Governor Umahi who made the announcement during his weekly state wide broadcast, said that essence of palliative to Ebonyians in Lagos and Abuja was to cushion the effects of hardship they have suffered as a result of the continued lockdown since the outbreak of the Virus, being the epic center of the Coronavirus pandemic. Umahi announced palliative packages of five thousand (5,000) bags of 5kg rice and Ten Million Naira Cash to those in Lagos while those in Abuja will get two thousand (2,000) bags of 5kg rice and Five Million Naira Cash. He urged them to stay safe and observe all precautionary measure and avoid traveling home as many have contracted the Virus on transit.

COVID-19; Border Lockdown To Get Tougher In The Coming Weeks - Gov Umahi

The Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr David Umahi has revealed that his Government will adopt tougher measures in the implementation of the nation wide inter-State border closure in the state. Governor Umahi made the revelation on Wednesday's weekly special Security Council meeting held at the new Government House, Centenary City, Abakaliki. He noted that his Government will build barricades in the major border points to checkmate the movement of people in the areas adding that he has been in talks with his Enugu state counterpart, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on the possible ways of tightening the security at the borders. Meanwhile, the Governor has commended the efforts of the Council Chairmen in equipping the newly established 39 holding centres across the state which as at 13th May 2020 had quarantined a total of 448 suspected cases for screening, and he further directed the deployment of Health staff from the 13 General Hospitals to the various holding centres to help render medical assistan

COVID-19: Foundation distributes 3000 bags of rice, 2000 face masks in Ebonyi community

A non-governmental organization, Golden-Julius Foundation (GJF), has distributed over 2000 bags of rice and other food items worth millions of naira to the indigent and less privileged people of  Nguzu and Ebiri communities in Afikpo South local government area of Ebonyi state. The Foundation also distributed over 3000 pieces of facemasks and sanitizers to the people to help them protect themselves from the spread of the virus. The Foundation which is owned by a popular philanthropist and business mogul from the area, Chief Julius Ama Orji, popularly known as Ochiri, has been a platform for offering scholarships to indigent students, orphans, and for the empowerment of youths and widows in Edda communities and beyond. Abia State Police Rescues Two Kidnapped Victims

By our Reporter Abia State Commissioner of police CP Janet Agbede has rescued two kidnap victims in Amauzo Okpolu Umuobo Community in Osisioma Local Government Area of Abia State.  The hoodlums had this week on Wednesday 7th May, 2020 by 10:00 pm abducted two persons along Okpolu Umuobo road near Jesus Christ of Later Day Saint Church in Osisioma Local Government Area of Aba commercial city.  Those kidnapped by the hoodlums are Nwankwo Chinedu (male) 42 years and Ndukwe Agu (male) aged 48 years were both abducted at Okpolu Umuobo road, on Wednesday.  When after the incident happened, the commissioner of Police , CP Janet Agbede got intelligence that the kidnappers moved the victims to their hideout at Amauzo Okpolu Umuobo community , Osisioma Council area.  The CP detailed SARS commander in Abia , SP Johnbull Obioguru and the C.T.U. men to fish out the criminals and resue their innocent victims.  In the same night of Wednesday, the SARS Commander with his team stormed the kidnappers hi

Oshiomole Bows To Pressure Backs Down On Ize-Iyamu Guber Ambition

There are indications that the national Chairman of the All Progressives (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has called for a fresh mock primary election for the four EPM Governorship aspirants, barring any last minutes changes. He was said to have bowed to pressure by the four aspirants, Dr. Pius Odubu, Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi, Mr Solomon Edebiri and Mr Charles Arhiavbere threatened to rock the boat should Ize-Iyamu emerge the consensus Candidate of the party. Covid-19: Umahi Announced Two Additional Case In The State

By our Reporter Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has announced the 4th and 5th case of Covid-19 patients in the state, bringing the number of active in the state to five. According to the governor, the two patients that tested positive are 24 years old and 22 years old respectively . The 24 year old patient is a female and a hair dresser from Ogwu Uburu in Umuobuna ward in Ohaozara LGA, She resides at no 30 Queen Close Okpara Avenue and returned with her family members on 27th to Ogwu Uburu. She was picked from Uburu to Stadium. She happens to be one of the contacts of the 3rd positive case Ebonyi recorded on the 1st of May. While the 5th Patient is a 22 year old man, who lives at No 197 Eshibiri , Ojo LGA Lagos. He Said to have left Lagos on the 26th of April 2020, and entered Ebonyi - Enugu Nkalagu Border and took a bus to Ezzambo Junction.
