2019; Edda People Is For PDP And Governor David Umahi Is Our Candidate; Stanley Okoro Emegha Reveals

It was a gathering of who-is-who in the political circle, as political bigwigs of Edda extraction thronged the Cherubim and seraphim church, Abakaliki, venue of the child dedication of the co-ordinator, Akubaraoha Youth Assembly (AYA) Afikpo South LGA Chapter, Hon. /Mrs Amos Okpori. They singed, danced and praised God for the gift of a new baby for the family and prayed God for more blessing and protection.

The gathering was also used to reaffirm the collective resolve of Edda people to work and ensure the landslide victory of Engr David Nweze Umahi in the forthcoming election.

Speaking to newsmen after the event, the special assistant to Ebonyi state Governor on Capital City, Hon. Stanley Okoro Emegha affirmed that the Edda people have only one political party, which is the PDP and one Governorship candidate, Engr David Nweze Umahi. He said that, any Edda person parading himself as governorship candidate is just deceiving himself and should not be taken serious by any responsible person. Emegha revealed that the resolve of Edda people to throw their weight behind the re-election of Engr David Nweze Umahi was born out of love and based on his purposeful leadership direction and achievements in all strata of the state economy. Hon. Stanley Okoro Emegha also maintained that Edda people in particular and Ebonyi state in general have never had it good, as witnessed under Governor Umahi’s administration. He said that the massive infrastructural development, youth and women empowerment/ emancipation, appointments of young people into position of trusts, the total overhaul and transformation of Abakaliki capital city into a tourist destination, care and support for religious organizations and the clergy in the state, giving grants to widows, vulnerable and disable persons through the office of SSA to the Governor on religious and welfare matters, Rev Fr Abraham Nwali and restoration of permanent peace in Ezza/Ezilo and other warring communities among others, were all testaments to Umahi’s total resolve in creating new Ebonyi State.

Hon. Stanley Okoro Emegha, urged his people and indeed, every right thinking Ebonyian to give their unreserved support to Governor Umahi, in prayers and in moral, to ensure he is re-elected to enable him consolidate on the successes recorded.
Meanwhile, other Edda sons who were at the event included, Hon. Nkemka Okoro Onuma, member representing Afikpo South West Constituency in Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon. Ogbonnaya Orji, former chairman, Afikpo South LGA among others.
