The special Assistant to Ebonyi state governor on capital city, Hon. Stanley Okoro Emegha, has described the notable infrastructural legacies of Engr David Nweze Umahi’s administration as a restorative mechanism, deliberately embarked upon by his administration to rewrite the ugly developmental narratives of the state. He opined that the state had suffered decades of untold neglect, marginalization and unimaginable rejection, hence the need to salvage the ugly trend became imperative. He said that Ebonyi people has never had it so good as being witnessed under Umahi’s administration, he therefore, urged the good people of the state to complement the Umahi led administrations transformational efforts in repositioning the state in general and Abakaliki capital city in particular, into a world class mega city, by reelecting him come 2019 election.

Hon. Emegha made the expression while on inspection of some of the ongoing projects within the Abakaliki metropolis, such as the Glass turnel, the Christian Worship center and the shopping mall. He said that, he is satisfied with the level of success achieved by Umahi’s administration in such a short time on the saddle and he is also convinced that Ebonyian are happy with him.

He however, frowned at the way and manner some people destroys government facilities with reckless abandon, without recourse to the fact that government expended huge resources and energy in putting such structures and facilities in place for the good of the people. He therefore, warned that government will no longer tolerate such criminal tendencies, as anyone caught vandalizing or damaging any of its facilities or installations within the state capital, will be severely dealt with, as adequate measures has been put in place to monitor, apprehend and subsequently prosecute those sabotaging government developmental effort.
.
Hon. Stanley Okoro Emegha reiterated that Engr Umahi’s administration is fully committed in ensuring the sustenance of the current aesthetic nature and serenity of the capital city, he therefore, reiterated his earlier warning to the general public to always adhere strictly and avoid contravening what he called ‘’urban renewal commandments’’ which includes but not limited to; Vandalization of decorative lights and water fountains; vandalization of street lights installation and accessories; abandonment of broken down vehicles along the streets and indiscriminate outdoor advertisement / mounting of billboards. Others are; street hawking and display of goods on the road within the capital city; stray animals / grazing of cattle within the capital city; vandalization of water pipes and water installation facilities; dumping of refuge inside drainage and indiscriminate cutting down of trees within the capital city among others.

You may recall that Engr Umahi’s administration has painstakingly turned around the infrastructural fortune of Abakaliki capital city with the construction of three fly –over bridges to ease traffic congestion and eradicate perennial accident occurrence; water fountains in strategic location adorned with magnificent decorative lights to enhance the aesthetic value and make the city’s night life memorable and the installation of streetlight that has covered over 80% of the entire stretch of the capital city which is meant to promote socio-economic life and improve the security of life and property of the people. The ongoing constructions of Christian worship center and shopping mall were all meant to give the state, the need infrastructural and economic prominence. It is therefore, imperative that all hands must be on deck to ensure the preservation and sustenance of these infrastructural legacies for posterity purpose, Hon. Emegha maintained
