Ebunwana Leaders Seeks Synergy with Ebonyi Commissioner, Thanks Umahi For Appointing Him
The elders, leaders and stakeholders of Ebunwana community in Afikpo South Local Government Area of the state on Thursday cried out to Hon. Commissioner for internal security and border peace, Hon. Stanley Okoro Emegha, to come to their rescue in restoring the damages done to their community by a former political gladiator from the area.
The leaders, who were on a courtesy visit to the Hon. Commissioner in his office, Government House, Abakaliki to felicitate with him on his recent political elevation from Special Assistant to Governor Umahi on Abakaliki Capital City to Hon. Commissioner for internal security and border peace.
Dr Okoro Nnachi who led the leaders to the Commissioner said that the essence of the visit was to congratulate him and thank God and Governor Umahi for honoring their son. He extolled the hard work, fighting spirit and dogged contributions of the Commissioner in the success of the last general election in Edda land. Dr Okoro maintain that the elevation of Hon. Stanley Okoro Emegha is well deserved and did not come as a surprise to them, as he has lived up to task in his previous state assignment and prayed God for wisdom and guidance to excel in his present assignment.
He expressed the Ernest determination of the leaders of the community to synergizing with the Hon. Commissioner, being one of the Apex political leaders in Edda land, in ensuring that all the good images of the community that were destroyed by former political gladiator are fully restored. Nnachi maintain that they are the PDP leaders in Ebunwana community who were stigmatized, mocked and attacked during the last election for standing with the PDP and Governor Umahi against all odds. He said also, that they want the party to be strong, solid and above all, return to its formal glory in Ebunwana community, knowing well that some of the founding fathers of the party were from the community.
Dr Nnachi also urges the Commissioner to prevail on the governor to remember them on his subsequent appointments and other social amenities due for the community. They pledged their total loyalty and support for Governor Umahi in solidifying and sustaining the achievements of his government and overall peace and development of the community.
Responding, Hon Stanley Okoro Emegha, thanked the elders for the show of love and assured that all their request will be channeled to the Governor, who he said, is a listening leader that listens to the plight of his people, and he is confident that their request will be given expedite response. He revealed that the governor has approved the completion of Amasiri/Amangwu/ Nguzu/Owutu/ Ebunwana/Ekoli road to be completed within the next six month. Hon. Emegha urge the leaders to come together, form a common front and work for the success of the government as he assured that all that is due for the community, will surely get to them.
Highlight of the visit was prayers for the successful second tenure of Governor Umahi and for Hon Stanley Okoro Emegha to excel in his task of maintaining the security of lives and property of all Ebonyi people.
