Abakpa Market Leadership Tussle: Government Wades In, Resolves Crises

The popular Abakpa main market located within the Abakaliki metropolis, was in the early hours of Monday locked up over an alleged leadership tussle.
Receiving the information, the Hon. Commissioner for Internal securi
ty and boarder peace, Hon. Stanley Okoro Emegha immediately stormed the market and ordered for immediate reopening of shops in the market which was allegedly locked up on the order of the former chairman, Mr Christopher Eze.
Addressing the traders at the market, the Commissioner explained that Governor Umahi is a peace loving Leader and has zero tolerance for violence and as such, cannot allow anyone under any guise constitute security breach in the state.
He charged the traders to remain peaceful, law abiding and go about their lawful business as the former chairman has been arrested and security agencies in the state has been properly mandated to arrest and detain anyone seen famenting troubles in the market in particular and the state in general.
The Commissioner was accompanied to the market by the SA Security, central Onyekachi Nwoba, SA Security, North, Com. Ben Nwovu, SA security Capital City, Saints Nchekwube Anako and SA Market kerian Ofoke. Meanwhile, the issue is been resolved at the moment by the Hon. Commissioner as all parties involved have been assembled in his office to put permanent end to the leadership tussle.
Meanwhile, the embattled former Chairman, Christopher Eze have denied any leadership tussle in the market. Eze said that he had met with SA to the governor on Market on the day of hand over as directed by Government having completed his tenure, but was surprised to see the SA forcefully trying takeover which resulted in the protests that led to the lock up of the shops in the early hours the the day.
He however assured the Commissioner that they will be no fracas in the market as the handover will be properly done to give way new leadership after election.
He has since been released after undertaking to maintain peace in the market.
