Alleged Abakpa Market Crises; Ebonyi Commissioner Gives Clarification

Stanley Okoro Emegha have given clarification to the conflicting reports on the crises that occurred in early hours of Wednesday in Abakpa market, Abakaliki, alleging that hoodlums invaded the market and caused crisesthat led to the death one person in the market. Hon. Emegha while responding to questions from newsmen who converged in his office to get his account of the situation, stated that he was at the market to seal up about five shops, identified to be hideout of some criminal elements who perpetually burgles shops in the market and those who have refused to remit the tax due to government to government coffers. The Commissioner said that after the sealing up exercise, he retired to attend a meeting with the Governor.
