Late Former SSG To Be Given State Burial - Gov. Umahi
Governor David Umahi has promised that the state government shall accord state burial to the late former Secretary to the State government, Chief Fidelis Mbam following his enormous contributions to the development of the state.
The Governor who paid a condolence visit to the family of the late SSG on his way from official engagement outside the country described the late state scribe as a consumate administrator who contributed immensely to the development of the state.
He called on the family members to embrace peace and eschew any form of rancoour by upholding the good vitures their father was known for.
Umahi further described the former SSG as a humane and hardworking administrator, saying that with his experience, he brought a lot of positive changes to the service of the state and called on the family to immortalize him by living in peace and harmony.
Responding, the first son of the former SSG, Mr Darlington Mbam expressed satisfaction with the visit of the governor to commiserate with them over the death of their father, describing it as demonstration of uncommon love to the family and entire Izzi Nnodo clan.
Mr Mbam said that Governor Umahi has demonstrated uncommon and equal love for the people of the state, adding that despite the fact that the family did not officially notify him of the death of their father, the governor had to cut short his official engagement abroad to come and console the family.
He prayed God to grant the governor sound health of mind and body to continue to pilot th
e affairs of the state, saying "I pray that God will protect you to do this job beyond this term to complete the good works you have started".
