Who Is Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii; A Builder Or Spoiler

Last week, the Lagos based business mogul from Isu in Onicha LGA of Ebonyi state, Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii was quoted to have boasted to be the richest man in Ebonyi state. Though, this bogus claims cannot be substantiated in the sense that the source of his wealth are yet to be made known. Nobody has taken time to trace his type of business or to even measure the number of industries or investments at his disposal. However, in a backward community like Isu where he hails from, this claims of being the richest Ebonyi man, may make much sense.

Just as the controversy generated by his claims were gathering momentum, information filtered in that he was going to contest for house of representative to represent OHANIVO federal constituency, tongues began to wag as to wether he was going to slug it out with his kinsman, Hon. Linus Okorie who is presently a two term member of house of representative, but governor David Umahi  had on several occasion announced the endorsement of Hon. Linus Okorie to go for third term in the house of representative. Journalist confronted Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii with these realities and wanted to know wether he was a one-man riot squard going up in arms against the decision of the governor and the party.

Right now as we speak, the Isu born money- bag is said to have abandoned his house of representative ambition and have began consultation to go to senate. If he goes ahead with his plans, what will become the promise of the governor to maintain the power sharing formular  agreement between Afikpo/Edda  and Ohaozara political blocs in Ebonyi south senatorial district.so who is fooling who? Is Anyi Chuks acting alone or is he been used as the governor’s agent? Be that as it may, Governor Umahi should take steps to address these problems to keep the coast clear for his re-election bid, otherwise the 2019 election in Ebonyi state will remain unpredictable or too close to call between the two contending parties the PDP and APC.

Secondly, one may want to know the responses of the governor to antics of Anyi Chuks in destabilizing the political stability of Ebonyi south. Is the governor using Anyi Chuks to stop Hon. Linus Okorie from going for third term in the house of representatives since Onicha LGA cannot retain both senate and house of representative. Then why governor Umahi harbouring  some untouchables such as Odefa Obasi Odefa, Deputy speaker of the state house of Assembly who is angling for unprecedented fourth term ticket in the house of Assembly. If Odefa is good to go the house of Assembly for the fourth term, then why must Linus Okorie be stopped from seeking reelection into the house of representative. Governor Umahi should pedal soft and stop creating contradiction which he cannot resolve, he should remember that the crises in Ebonyi North senatorial zone is still festering in that zone, the Izzi people had threatened to back off governor Umahi’s re-election bid unless their own aspiration to the senate is respected, Umahi is yet to find a solution to that crises.in Ebonyi central, Sen. Obinna Ogba has gotten a fair endorsement across the zone inspite  of some insinuation from some elements that he is from a minority.
