Nasarawa 2019 Guber Race; Al-Makura Anointed Candidate Pledges consolidation

Alhaji Shehu Tukur, Nasarawa State Governorship aspirant under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), has pledged to consolidate on the achievements of Gov. Umaru Al-Makura.
Tukur, also the Sarkin Gabas of Keffi, made the pledge in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Abuja.
He explained that Al-Makura had done well in transforming the state through the provision of critical infrastructure adding that he had no choice but to continue the laudable projects if he emerges as governor.
The governorship aspirant said that the people of Nasarawa need a leader who understood the language of development, continuity and someone who would consolidate on the previous gains.
Tukur said as a development worker, he had acquired the necessary competency, experience and determination to lead and make Nasarawa state a model in the country.
“I have been closely and strategically involved in virtually all the infrastructural drive of the current government, a position that makes me more suitable for the job, to continue the good work the administration is doing.
“The people of Nasarawa state need at this juncture a leader who is experienced, exposed and also keenly aware that the development of our society depends on the investment we make in our youth.
“ A leader who understands that leadership requires youthful energy, creative spirit, as well as experience and wise counsel of the old.
“ I shall work to serve the people of Nasarawa state irrespective of tribe, religion and where one comes from, so far that he or she is an indigene or resident of the state.
“ We shall work for all and all will be adequately represented in our government,’’ Tukur said.
He promised to guarantee the safety of lives and property in Nasarawa and ensure equal opportunities to all citizens if elected into power in 2019.
The aspirant also assured a level playing ground to all citizens in the state, saying no body would be denied the rights to political participation and access to services under his watch.
Tukur disclosed that full details of his vision and mission would be encapsulated in his manifesto, which would be presented to the public in due course.
He advised Nasarawa indigenes, irrespective of their diversity to rally round and ensure the emergence of a candidate that have the interest of the state and its people at heart.
“I call on all the people of Nasarawa to ensure the emergence of a candidate that understands the needs of the ordinary people, Tukur said.
