Gov. David Nweze Umahi; Beyond 2019

I was somewhere in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital recently, having a conversation with a group of people, which was centred on the achievements of Gov. David Nweze Umahi so far as the Executive Governor of Ebonyi state. A lady among us asked me, could all these things that Gov. Umahi has done and still doing are just because of 2019? and i ask, Are all these developmental achievements recorded by Umahi's administration are just because he wants to be re-elected come 2019? and the answer is no.

To put the record straight, Engnr David Umahi of  Ebonyi state has performed beyond the expectation of ALL, even his detractors and critiques has lost thought of what to say against him. it is not worthwhile filling up the space listing all his achievements in less than Three years in office, ranging from infrastructure to Agriculture; Health to Education; Economic empowerment to security etc, as all these achievements are there for all to see, even the blind can feel it.

Gov. Umahi belongs to the new crop of Leaders, Nigeria has been yearning for. he has unarguably, demonstrated high level of political ingenuity which has earned him a prominent space in the heart of both the young, the aged, the past and present leaders, which has hitherto, placed him on a high political pedestal in the political annals of this country. His political prominence has beclouded the political atmosphere, even across all political lines and divides. he has become an envy of other Governors based on his achievements.
Gov. Umahi has made Ebonyi state, the once rejected and non- recognised state, the envy of others, the epic centre of development and the political nerve centre of South Eastern Nigeria due to his pragmatic leadership and political sagacity.

Recently, he attracted the  presence of the number one citizen of Nigeria, President Mohammed Buhari to the state. the visit attracted great accolade from the political watchers, analyst and citizens alike. the visit saw the gathering of who is who, in the south Eastern political bloc and even across party line. the visit was unique in its entirety  because, it was first of its kind in the past ten years to the state. secondly, Mr President and the Governor were of different political parties, he was solely attracted to the state based on the success and landmark achievements recorded by Gov. Umahi's administration in less than three years in office.

It is worthy of note to state here, that the numerous achievement made by Gov. Umahi in the past two years is not just because he want to be re-elected come 2019, because if he is to
be assessed based on that premise, he has even achieved third term. But, Engnr. David Umahi is a leader that believes in setting a positive record standard that will take time to offset. he believes in leaving his footprint on the sands of time. he believes in bequeathing enduring legacies to generations yet unborn. he is a leader  that believes in breaking hard grounds. he is the kind of leader that uses every opportunity at his disposal to impact positively in the life of his people.

Gov. Umahi has proven beyond all reasonable doubt, that he is not just a state bound leader but a leader of national and international standard and pedigree. he is a leader that should be entrusted with higher responsibility like president or vice president, after serving his people on a state level as Governor for 8yrs. as the popular saying that"REWARD FOR HARD WORK IS MORE WORK" should be applied. no wonder, a popular Nigeria industrialist, Prince Arthur Eze said during Mr president's visit to Ebonyi state, that '' Governor David Umahi is the type of leader that should represent Ndi Igbo come 2023 as its presidential candidate.

Engr. David Umahi is a bridge builder and detribalized Nigeria who believe strongly in Nigeria project. the testimonies made by both Hausa and Yoruba communities residing in Ebonyi state, who even endorsed him for second term in office undermining that he is of different political party with Mr president, during Mr president two-day working visit to the state was a clear testament to the fact presented above.

In all indication, 2019 is already done and dusted as it will be clearly a smooth sail for Gov Umahi, as those who constituted themselves as opposition and their acclaimed structure in the state has collapsed on sighting the intimidating achievements recorded by the governor. it is a known fact that the second term bid of Engnr Umahi is deserving and is purely a walkover for him.
The underlining question here is, where will he be after 2023? will he be at the Aso Rock Villa? as what? president or vice president? time will definitely account for that.  celplusmedia.blogspot.com
