No Going Back On Abakaliki Ring Road Project - Gov. Umahi.

Ebonyi state Governor, Engnr David Nweze Umahi has disclosed his firm resolve to construct the Abakaliki Ring Road, even if the $150m loan being sought for is accessed or not.

Gov. Umahi made this known to newsmen in Abakaliki recently. he made it known to opposition in the state, that his administration does not rely solely on loan to construct the ring road, stressing that he was committed to that road project and must construct it for the general good of all Ebonyians.

The governor pointed out that, the Ring Road project should be the most desire of every Abakaliki man, and any Abakaliki person that is opposed to the construction of the Ring Road is already cursed.
He revealed that the Ring Road is about 199km, but his administration is just battling to construct only 20km out of it. the roads are in a pitiable state and if you go through the road you will pity our people so much, he added.

Gov. Umahi laughed  at those who think that the money will be diverted, stating that if the loan is secured, it will not come to Ebonyi state Government account. he stated that former Governor Sam Egwu , during his administration initiated a World Bank loan for the flood in Abakaliki. it was followed up during the last administration and the contract is about to be awarded. the procurement was done by World Bank, the contractor we do not know, no kobo is coming to state government, so it is the same thing with the African Development Bank ( ADB) loan.  ADB  was the first contact made by the previous administration to fund the Ring Road, so for anybody in the name of politics to start writing petition, as if the money will come to state government purse or that it will be used to prosecute the 2019 election, such person is wasting his time, because that is their fear.
what we have already done in Ebonyi state is enough to give us Forth tenure.so we are not looking for the money, it will not come to our pocket, rather it is going to be the same process like that of World Bank. so let that fears fear no more, Umahi concluded.celplusmedia.blospot.com
