Peoples Guide Newspaper Sets For NUJ Inauguration

By Israel Mbam All is now set for the inauguration of peoples Guide Newspaper chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ slated to hold on Wednesday, 26 June 2019. According to Mr. Celestine Okeh, Chairman planning committee of the event, delegates from both the national, zonal and State council of the Union are expected to be at the event which promises to be colourful in the state. He revealed that the inauguration will also attract stakeholders, friends and partners of the company within and outside Ebonyi State. The committee chairman who said the event will hold at the Abakaliki head office of the company, which is at number six (No.6) Calabar Street, off Waterworks road Abakaliki called on lovers of Journalism and the company to come out to witness the historic event. Inauguration: NASS management denies Okorocha entry

Former governor of Imo State Rochas Okorocha arrived National Assembly premises at 7:40.am on Tuesday ahead of the inauguration but was denied accreditation. Okorocha, who was declared winner of the Imo West Senatorial District, was not issued certificate of return by INEC. However, a federal high court in Abuja last week ordered that he be given his return certificate. It was, however, gathered that Okorocha was not accredited by the National Assembly management to attend the inauguration. It was not clear if INEC had complied with the court’s directive.

Senator Ahmed Lawan has been elected the Senate President of the 9th Senate, as he defeated his contestant, Senator Ali Ndume. Counting so far showed that Lawan was leading with 68 votes while counting continues. There are 107 senators currently at the Senate and Lawan has already scored over half of the votes Details later…
